Italy approves arming Kurds, as Renzi visits Iraq

The Italian parliament on Wednesday approved plans for sending military aid to Iraqi Kurds fighting an offensive by the Islamic State (IS). On Thursday prime minister Mateo Renzi is to go to Baghdad to meet Iraqi and Kurdish leaders and to meet refugees in Baghdad and Erbil.
