Top economics MEP switches to financial sector

Former economics committee chair Sharon Bowles, a British Liberal MEP who did not stand for re-election in May, was hired by the London Stock Exchange, Spiegel reports. The move is legal under the conflict of interest rules that govern the European Parliament, despite criticism from transparency advocates and some MEPs.
