McDonald’s avoided paying over €1bn in corporate taxes in Europe

McDonald’s avoided paying over €1bn in European corporate taxes between 2009 and 2013, the report 'Unhappy Meal' released Wednesday by a coalition of trade unions and civil society organisations shows. Headquarters were moved from London to Geneva and a Luxembourg holding company with a Swiss subsidiary established to minimise taxes.
