Merkel signals soft approach to UK exit
By EUobserver
German leader Merkel told press Saturday there’s “no need to be particularly nasty" on the terms of the UK’s EU exit. "It shouldn't take forever ... but I would not fight for a short timeframe," she added. Statement comes amid debate whether to punish UK as a deterrent against other eurosceptic movements. An ECB official Saturday told media UK banks could lose their “passport” to do business on the mainland.
