UK gives up EU presidency role

The British government has said the UK will give up its presidency of the EU Council, which had been scheduled for the second half of next year, due the Brexit vote, the BBC reported Wednesday. The decision means that Malta and Estonia might share the task when it comes up or that Estonia might bring forward its EU presidency, which had been due in the first half of 2018.
