South Korea suspends sales, fines VW over emissions

South Korea on Tuesday suspended certification for sales of 80 Volkswagen car models and fined the German carmaker over €14 million for allegedly having forged documents on emissions or noise-level tests. “Obtaining certification with fake documents is a serious crime. We’ll deal with it sternly,” the Korean environment ministry said in a statement. Volkswagen said it would consider requesting an "injunction of execution".
