South Korea suspends sales, fines VW over emissions

South Korea on Tuesday suspended certification for sales of 80 Volkswagen car models and fined the German carmaker over €14 million for allegedly having forged documents on emissions or noise-level tests. “Obtaining certification with fake documents is a serious crime. We’ll deal with it sternly,” the Korean environment ministry said in a statement. Volkswagen said it would consider requesting an "injunction of execution".

French police raid Le Pen's party office

Officers raid the National Front headquarters near Paris over allegations that leader Marine Le Pen used fake EU parliament contracts to pay her personal staff.
