Ukip plunged into chaos after candidate's exclusion
Ukip has descended into faction fighting after Steven Woolfe, the favoured successor to outgoing leader Nigel Farage, was barred from standing in the leadership election by the party's national executive committee (NEC). He submitted his nomination papers 17 minutes late. The move prompted three resignations from the committee. The Independent reports that Farage might form a new party modelled on Italy’s Five Star Movement.
