Lithuania agrees €386m Germany arms deal
Lithuania on Monday concluded a €386 million deal to buy 88 armoured vehicles from German-Dutch firm Artec - the largest arms contract in the country's history. "Lithuania takes its security and investing in it seriously", defence minister Juozas Olekas said. The vehicles are to arrive between 2017 and 2021. Germany recently agreed to send 500 soldiers to Lithuania as part of a Nato anti-Russia deterrent.
