Ex-commissioner: my rules on emissions are not vague

Former industry EU commissioner Guenter Verheugen (2004-2010) told MEPs in a written statement that the definitions of cheating software in car emissions legislation, adopted during his term, were not vague. Carmakers and national authorities have claimed they were, in the wake of the VW scandal. Verheugen also denied he had delayed the development of a new on-road emissions test. He will appear as witness in the Dieselgate inquiry next week.
