Switzerland sees increase in migrants from Italy

Large numbers of migrants have showed up in the border region between Italy and Switzerland, the Swiss finance minister, who is also in charge of the border guard corps, Ueli Maurer, has said. The Lugano region registered 9,900 illegal crossings in the summer and 4,208 people were returned to Italy. Maurer said he is more concerned about migration routes from Italy, than from Germany and Austria.
