Former Portugese PM leads race for UN job
By EUobserver
Former Portugal prime minister and UN high commissioner for refugees Antonio Guterres strengthened his lead in the race to become UN's next secretary general after a third secret vote on Monday to choose Ban Ki-moon’s successor. A fourth poll is expected in September, but according to reports, only Russia, which argued that the job should go to an eastern European, could stop Guterres from getting the top UN job.
