German lawmakers set to visit Incirlik military base

German lawmakers are set to visit the Incirlik military base, where some 250 German soldiers are posted, in October after Turkey dropped its threat to ban the visit, reports Welt am Sonntag newspaper. Ankara was outraged after German MPs backed a resolution in June that declared the 1915 Ottoman massacre of Armenians a genocide. But tensions appear to have calmed after Germany said the resolution was non-binding.
