Migrants paying Ukrainians for 'luxury' EU trips

Italian police have reported a "growing phenomenon" of migrants paying up to $8,000 each to professional Ukrainian sailors for "luxury journeys" across the Mediterranean to Europe on yachts and other boats instead of overcrowded rubber dinghies, Reuters reports. Police arrested two Ukrainians smuggling 50 people this week. Some 93,000 people have arrived in Italy so far this year, the interior ministry said.
