Slovenia sues Croatia over old bank debt

Slovenia filed on Thursday a court case at the European Court of Human Rights, demanding €360mn in compensation from Croatia for the Zagreb-based defunct Ljubljanska Banka. Slovenian justice minister Goran Klemencic told a news conference that Croatian authorities had prevented recouping the debt after the break-up of Yugoslavia in 1991. The court last year ordered Slovenia to repay depositors in Croatia and Bosnia who lost their savings when Yugoslavia collapsed.
