EU commissioner wants defence bonds

EU countries should issue joint bonds to fund military projects, industry commissioner Elzbieta Bienkowska said Friday, two days after commission president Jean-Claude Juncker said he would propose a European Defense Fund. She told Reuters that money from the European Fund for Strategic Investment (EFSI) could be used to start funding defense research and development projects.
