No police deal for Denmark, says Timmermanns

Denmark will not be allowed continued membership of Europol after the agency’s new legal status comes into force 1 May 2017, EU commission vice president Frans Timmermanns said on Tuesday. Some 53.1 percent of Danes rejected joining EU justice and home affairs policies in a referendum last December. The UK has similar opt-outs to Denmark, so is also likely to be cut off from Europol in May.
