Ukip leader quits after 18 days

Diane James has quit the UK Independence Party's leadership, just 18 days after she was elected. "I do not have sufficient authority, nor the full support of all my MEP colleagues and party officers officers to implement changes I believe necessary," she said in statement. Former leader Nigel Farage quit after the Brexit referendum, plunging the party into political infighting and battles over its future direction.
