Spain's highest court overturns Catalan ban on bullfighting

The Spanish Constitutional Court on Thursday ruled that a ban by the Catalan parliament on bullfighting was unconstitutional. According to the court, it did not have the authority to do so. Bullfighting is part of Spanish heritage, the court argued, but it is a controversial and divisive issue. Moreover, the case once again illustrated the tensions between the Catalan and national government.
