ECB holds rates and continues quantitive easing programme

Thursday's European Central Bank’s governing council meeting has left interest rates on hold and reaffirmed plans to extend the €80 billion quantitative easing programme to March 2017, or beyond if needed. ECB president Mario Draghi said in a press conference that “an abrupt end” to quantitative easing is “unlikely”.
