French shift 2,300 from Calais migrant camp

The French authorities moved 2,300 people from the Calais makeshift migrant camp on the first day of clearing the area, interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve said on Monday. Some 1,900 people were taken to refugee centres across France and 400 children were placed in a provisional reception centre at the Calais site. Cazeneuve said the UK had agreed to take all children with links to the UK.
