Israel boycotts French peace conference

Israel has told France it will not take part in a Middle East peace conference to take place in Paris at the end of the year, but Palestine and Arab states are still keen to go ahead. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu's office told France "in a clear and unequivocal manner" on Monday that he believed peace would "only come through direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority".
