EP vote on car approvals delayed until 2017

The Internal Market and Consumer Protection (Imco) committee of the European Parliament will vote on a European Commission proposal about reforming the way cars are approved on 26 January 2017, almost a year after it was proposed in response to the Volkswagen scandal. MEPs are waiting for feedback from the environment and transport committees. After the vote, a plenary vote and compromise talks with national governments begin.

EU Modernisation Fund: an open door for fossil gas in Romania

Among the largest sources of financing for energy transition of central and eastern European countries, the €60bn Modernisation Fund remains far from the public eye. And perhaps that's one reason it is often used for financing fossil gas projects.
