Germany bans group that preached violent jihad
By EUobserver
Germany has banned a group calling itself the True Religion, accusing it of recruiting militants. Interior minister Thomas de Maiziere announced the ban on Tuesday after police raided around 200 mosques, flats and offices linked to the group. He told media that the group, which was known for handing out copies of the Koran, had persuaded about 140 people to join Islamist militants in Iraq and Syria.
