Uber defends business model in court

Lawyers for the US firm Uber told judges at the European Court of Justice on Tuesday that it is a tech firm, not a transport company. Uber is facing a challenge from Barcelona's main taxi operator, which argues that it has an unfair advantage. If Uber loses the case, it could be subjected to stricter rules on licensing, insurance and safety. Uber uses an app to link customers with drivers.
