EU to take legal action against states over emissions cheating

The EU commission is set to announce legal action against seven EU states for failing to stop carmakers from cheating on emissions tests, reports Reuters. Germany and the UK are among the states to be targeted. "This is not the end; just the first wave of action," an EU source told Reuters. Member states have failed to penalise manufacturers despite proof of cheating, particularly by Volkswagen.
