UK minister attacks EU court

British foreign secretary Boris Johnson has mocked the EU court for a ruling which could force people to buy insurance for vehicles used on private land. He said in his first column of 2017, in The Independent, a newspaper, the verdict was "a perfect example of both over-regulation ... and the judicial activism of the ECJ [EU court]." The ruling, from 2014, is now being inscribed in UK law.
