EU needs bad loans agency, bank regulator says

A new publicly-funded asset management entity should take bad or unpaid loans off the books of European banks and aim to sell them for their "real" economic value, Andrea Enria, the head of the European Banking Authority said in Luxembourg on Monday, Reuters reported. He said there was around €1trillion of non-performing loans in EU banks today, with Italian banks holding the largest share (€276bn).

A committee resolution said the proposal to renew the glyphosate permit for a decade "fails to ensure a high level of protection of both human and animal health and the environment".
