Report: May to offer €20bn as Brexit bill in Florence speech

UK prime minister Theresa May will offer to pay at least €20bn to the EU, to fill the budget hole caused by the UK leaving the bloc, the Financial Times reported Tuesday. May's EU adviser informed European counterparts, saying the PM's Florence speech on Friday will include a financial offer. May hopes the offer will break the deadlock in Brexit talks and discussions will proceed to the next phase.
