Catalonia has 'contingency plans' for independence vote
By EUobserver
Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont said on Thursday that his government has "contingency plans" to organise a referendum on independence on 1 October, despite the Spanish government's efforts to prevent it. The vote has been ruled illegal by the Spanish constitutional court, but Puigdemont said he would continue anyway because he has "the support of the vast majority of the population" in the region.
