EU wants to reopen embassy in Libya

A draft joint statement, seen by Reuters ahead of an EU summit next week, says that the EU is keen to reopen an embassy in Libya. EU leaders at the summit are set to announce that they "encourage work underway to rapidly establish a permanent EU presence in Libya." The statement also notes that improved security on the ground is a precondition for any embassy.
