EU Commission 'confident' on German stability

The European Commission is "confident" that Germany's constitution will guarantee "stability and continuity" in the country, after talks to form a coalition failed on Sunday, the EU executive's spokesman told journalists on Monday. The talks' failure threw doubt on chancellor Angela Merkel's ability to govern in the coming months.
