MEPs reject objection to glyphosate renewal
By EUOBSERVER
MEPs rejected a text on Tuesday that objected to the renewal of the weedkiller glyphosate. The text received support from 27 members of the environment, public health and food safety committee, but was rejected by 29. Member states voted in favour of a five-year renewal on Monday. Centre-right German agriculture minister Christian Schmidt said on Tuesday he decided to vote in favour without consulting chancellor Angela Merkel.
