EU asks Romania to cut spending

EU finance ministers said on Tuesday that Romania "has failed to take effective action to correct a significant budgetary deviation". They gave the Romanian government until 15 April next year to take measures to limit the increase in public spending to 3.3 percent in 2018, "representing an annual structural adjustment of at least 0.8 percent of GDP".
