UK holds back old Europe files from public release

Files related to Britain's 1992 expulsion from the Exchange Rate Mechanism were due to be released on Friday at the National Archives under British rules, but were held back from entering public domain without further explanation being given. Out of 495 files from the prime minister's office that year, a total of 114 were held back. Of those, 12 related to European policy, Bloomberg reported.

EU Modernisation Fund: an open door for fossil gas in Romania

Among the largest sources of financing for energy transition of central and eastern European countries, the €60bn Modernisation Fund remains far from the public eye. And perhaps that's one reason it is often used for financing fossil gas projects.
