Italy's 5 Star drops euro referendum plan
By EUobserver
Italy's 5 Star Movement has dropped previous plans to hold a referendum on euro membership from its manifesto ahead of elections on 4 March. It noted the referendum would be discussed in likely coalition talks, saying: "the political forces will have to tell us why they don't want to converge around this programme". It also promised a universal income of €780/month, earlier retirement, more public spending and lower national debt.
