Germany to leave EU mission in Somalia

Germany is set to pull out of an EU military training mission in Somalia, the government announced on Thursday, citing scepticism on the project's effectiveness. Also known as the "European Union Training Mission Somalia" or EUTM, the mission aims to help train the Somali military. The mission was launched in 2010 but has faced numerous obstacles. Germany has five soldiers in EUTM.
