South Africa urges EU to suspend airline carbon tax

South Africa is urging the EU to suspend its airline emissions trading scheme (ETS) for two years - time to allow countries to reach a global deal on carbon charges. ETS requires all airlines flying into Europe to pay a carbon tax. The scheme was launched on 1 January 2012.
