No new treaties for many years, urges Danish PM

Danish Liberal Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen is rallying support for a declaration promising there will be no new EU treaties for many years after the EU Constitution is adopted.

During talks with Spanish Premier José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, French president Jacques Chirac and Irish EU president Bertie Ahern, Mr Rasmussen argued that a block on new treaties would be useful.

He did not say however how long such a break ought to be, reported Politiken.
