EU home affairs ministers to discuss legal migration to Europe

The European Union should take steps to facilitate the admission of non-Europeans "who could play an important part in the further development of the Union's 'knowledge-based economy', the Dutch presidency will propose to Justice and Home Affairs ministers on Monday.

The suggestion forms part of a paper drawn up by the Dutch presidency to serve as a basis for discussions at a meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council on Monday.
