London is maintaining its pressure on other member states for a reform of the EU's agricultural subsidies - it is seeking a complete abolishment of subsidies by 2010.
UK Europe minister Douglas Alexander is quoted by French paper Le Monde as saying that WTO trade negotiations in Hong Kong later this year would be an "unprecedented" occasion to agree a total abolition of agricultural subsidies.
