UK interior minister Charles Clarke has indicated Britain may not open its labour market to workers from Bulgaria and Romania directly after the two countries' planned entry to the EU in 2007.
During this week's visit to both countries, Mr Clarke confirmed full support for their EU membership and praised the positive input of migrant workers from central and eastern Europe to the British economy.
