The Dutch government has backed down on plans to fully open the Dutch labour market to new EU state workers, postponing the decision until later this year, according to Dutch media.
The Hague's centre-right government had late last month proposed to lift barriers to new member state workers from 1 January 2007, but a parliamentary debate on the issue on Tuesday (12 April) revealed broad opposition to the plan.
