EU condemns Israel bombing

The EU has condemned a Monday (17 April) suicide bomb attack in Tel Aviv, with international pressure mounting for the Hamas-led Palestinian government to help stop violence.

Nine people died and about 50 were injured in the explosion, claimed to have been carried out by Palestinian group Islamic Jihad.

Israel reacted by firing missiles at a metal workshop in Gaza City suspected of being used by Palestinian militants.
