The Austrian EU presidency has proposed that the Council - the member states' decision-making body - holds more meetings in public, according to draft conclusions of the June EU leaders' summit seen by EUobserver.
The proposal builds on an earlier announcement by EU member states in December to immediately hold more discussions and votes in public on EU laws under the so-called co-decision procedure where the European Parliament also has a full say.
