Unemployment in the 12-nation euro zone is at its lowest level in nearly five years, new figures from the European Union's statistical office, Eurostat, have shown.
The euro zone jobless rate fell from 8.0 per cent of the labour force in April to 7.9 per cent in May, which is the lowest since November 2001.
The average unemployment level for all of the 25 EU countries was unchanged at 8.2 percent in May.
