Germany is warming up to the idea of disclosing individual recipients of EU farm subsidies in line with a European Commission transparency project, with Berlin's support potentially tipping the balance toward full cooperation by all 25 member states.
"Compared with six months ago, there is certainly a discussion going on," a German diplomat told EUobserver on Thursday (31 August). "As net contributors to the EU budget, we generally support the idea of introducing more transparency."
