EU embarks on three year-long road to liberalise services

The controversial EU law aiming to liberalise the bloc's services sector has been given final approval by the European Parliament in the EU's last legal step before it enters into force, with member states now having three years to implement what originally sparked fury as the "Frankenstein directive."

MEPs on Wednesday (15 November) voted overwhelmingly in favour of the draft directive, previously also approved by EU member states.
