The controversial transfer of air passenger data to the US is set to be finalised by EU states on Monday 17 May, during a meeting of EU foreign ministers.
The European Commission, which supports the deal, had found itself in an awkward position as the Eurpean Parliament had asked it to wait for the European Court of Justice to rule on whether the deal violates EU privacy laws.
