The EU's enlargement commissioner has spoken out strongly in favour of further enlargement and called on member states to live up to their responsibility towards Turkey.
In a speech in Hamburg on Tuesday (9 August), Olli Rehn said that a meeting of EU foreign ministers at the beginning of September where the predominant theme will be Turkey will the time for governments "to express their views, honour their commitments, and carry their responsibilities".
