Commission will not interfere in Nice campaign

The European Commission said that it will not intervene in the Irish referendum campaign on Nice and "will not play part in such matters". The Commission spokesperson Jonathan Faull also said that there are no alternative plans should the Irish vote 'no' in the next referendum on October 19. "There is no plan A, B, C or D. There is the Treaty of Nice and it is now in the ratification process."
